Let's Rewind

Little did you know as a kid, you had no idea of what life would look like after a certain span of time. As kids, everybody used to have their goals set up in mind, but very few tend to stick to that goal till the very end. As you grow up you are faced with the harsh realities of life.

Life is about a lot more than something you can perceive with your tiny brains. You can build a number of strategies in your mind, but they prove worthless after a while when life starts taking turns you cannot even remotely predict. Your perception of life changes with your interests and so does your needs. You cannot do anything about it.
So, this young feverish generation is all scooped up. With their bags tied, they are ready to head on to a place where they cannot flood back from unless of course if they are a Thomas Alva Edison or a Steve jobs edition.
I have a feeling of an intense déjà vu looking at them,
Many of you might still think if you would have given a second thought to that spur of the moment four years back, or whatever time it has been while you were an 18 year old imbecile who was locked in to bounce into a boogie that looked attractive without even knowing where that wheel is going to head, the scenario might have been way different. Some of you might have stumbled upon something that you totally had your mind into while some might have ended into an imbroglio where you have had no choice except doing donkey’s work with a hope of something good to come. Your fate cannot be undone. Even if you start all over again that zeal is always going to be missing.
There might no doubt be disinclination between your potential and your field of interest. There might be a thousand potentials in you, doesn't mean you will randomly pick out one to have a life long battle with. This isn't a brick and mortar store or an online shopping portal where you can go back in the nick of time to get on the new ball. You may though let it ride but then we all know what fate is going to be.
Inspirational proverbs start to seem so lame that you start despising the good. Only thing that could make you optimistic in approach is either the results of your endeavor or another opportunity to pursue your passion.
So, you can think a thousand times before getting in, but once you get on the ship you have no other option left except to sail.

For the Marvel Lovers!

The Marvel comics has recently revealed that Tony Stark will step down from the Ironman's mantle for another character to take over. An African American girl named Riri Williams has been reported to play the upcoming Iron man. This fifteen year old is a scientific genius who invents the the iron man suit in her dorm room of the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) which she has enrolled while she was just a teenager! This girl catches Tony's attention when he hears that one of the MIT student has re-engineered one of his old armoured suits.
The Marvel writer Brian Michael Bendis stated that this character is an inspiration from the Tv show he was working on in Chicago which didn't end up airing. "The story of this brilliant young girl whose life
was marred by a tragedy that could have easily ended her life was incredibly inspiring", He said.
It is however hard to predict the turn over the story is going to take and it's repercussions on the hallowed fan following of the Invincible Ironman. Brian has however reassured the hordes who are worried about the Tony's fate at the civil war II, that this might not be the case.

The Big Brain Theory

As i grew up, i realized my excessive deliberation with acting on a whim, and my unsuspecting credulity with a scientific theory, an article, a speech or a human being however lame or morbid it might seem in the beginning. I tend to become the person i spend a lot of time with. I watch a movie, call it absolutely pathetic and if at all i come across an accustomed situation, the movie suddenly starts making sense.I consider myself very discerning about my theories and beliefs though, yet i have feeling of an intense paranoia and insecurity talking brazenly about it. This makes me really temperamental at times, not getting along with everyone i meet.

For instance, lately I have relied so much on the peculiar theory of our brain lateralization, that i have started attributing all my traits, including fondness of creativity, humming the tone of the song without even remembering the lyrics, to this theory!

Let me introduce you to this flabbergasting theory. According to this theory our brain works with two hemispheres that act independently depending upon the human being's caliber. The "left-brain thinkers" and the "right- brain thinkers". Mostly, one side of the brain tends to dominate another.

The left brain thinkers are usually good at logic and maths. they tend to remember things they read or come across. They are good with language, numbers and reasoning. Left brain thinking in other words is verbal and analytical. Also, all the activities that takes place in body's right side is controlled by left brain hemisphere and vice-versa. In other words, right brain controls muscles on left side of the body and left brain control the muscles on the right side of the body.

The right brain thinkers tend to be more creative, and good at expressing emotions. They can adroitly recognize faces they come across. They focus more on visual, processes information in an intuitive and simultaneous way. They are more intuitive, thoughtful and subjective. Other emotions associated with right brain includes music, colour, images, reading emotions, etc.

Later research has shown that the brain is not nearly as dichotomous as once thought. For example, research has shown that abilities in subjects such as math are strongest when both halves of the brain work together. Today, neuroscientists know that the two sides of the brain collaborate to perform a broad variety of tasks and that the two hemispheres communicate through the corpus callosum.

"No matter how lateralized the brain can get, though, the two sides still work together," science writer Carl Zimmer explained in an article for Discover magazine. "The pop psychology notion of a left brain and a right brain doesn’t capture their intimate working relationship. The left hemisphere specializes in picking out the sounds that form words and working out the syntax of the phrase, for example, but it does not have a monopoly on language processing. The right hemisphere is more sensitive to the emotional features of language, tuning-in to the slow rhythms of speech that carry intonation and stress."

However researchers have stated that this theory is still a psychological myth which scientist have just recorded through observation in human brains but, now it has become dramatically distorted and exaggerated. It's popularity is to an extent people take online tests to find out which type best describes them.

Yet i have had kinda blind faith in it, just because i have found certain idiosyncrasies of people quite relatable to it. For you guys, let me tell you this theory is totally outdated yet you could use it as a point of historical interest to study how brain's working evolved and use it to analyse your own potential which might help you develop better ways to learn and study.
